Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also called Ashanti was born on 13 October of 1980, in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actress. Ashanti started her career as a teenager, she was signed by Murder Inc. Records by 2002. In the that same year, she was in Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's track, Always On Time and Fat Joe's What's luv? She became the first female artist to hold highest two positions on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at number one and What's Luv? The first female artist to hold the top two spots on The Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States, with Foolish at number one and What's Love? Let's celebrate this momentous occasion together. Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York on October 13, 1980. Tina Douglas is the mother of Ashanti. Ken Kaide Douglas is her father. The younger Kenashia is Tia Douglas. Douglas has named her Ashanti to honor Ghana's Ashanti Empire in which women ruled and had an influence. Douglas wanted Ashanti to adopt this same model. James her father was a civil rights leader who was a close friend of Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. The mother of Ashanti discovered her talents after hearing her sing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti performed as an actor in Spike Lee's Malcolm X in 1992, and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? There were also a couple of performances in music videos like K.R.S.-Act One's MC's Like They don't even know as well as 8-Off's Ghetto Girl. After being courted by various record labels including Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti had a difficult time gaining success as a vocalist. Amid this struggle, Ashanti played in New York. At the Murder Inc. The Declaration, her fourth studio album, was released in June 2008 Hey Baby After the Club was released on 16 October for radio and digital outlets. She was a part of the films Christmas in the City as in Army Wives. Her song Rock wit U was sampled by British singer Aitch for his song Baby on the 10th of March 2022.
